BKA is short for Bundeskriminalamt (Federal Criminal Investigation Office).
It is the highest police authority of Germany and deals with corporate and organized crime, Matrix crime and crimes spanning multiple states.
In the times of the old Federal Republic of Germany the BKA was only a coordinating office helping the various state police forces when crimes involved multiple states but in the AGS the BKA is a full-fledged police of its own, reporting to the Federal Government in Hannover.
The BKA can be compared to the UCAS FBI.
