Orks (lat.: Homo sapiens robustus) appeared for the first time on 30 April 2021. On this day about a tenth of mankind goblinized into Orks and Trolls. In the following years many humans in the course of their puberty also goblinized into Orks and Trolls. Orks are the most numerous of the metahuman races next to humans.

Characteristics

Orks are on the average somewhat larger than humans (≈190cm). Many Orks have tusks, especially on the lower jaw, replacing their canines. Their skin colors are a range from tan to black. Orks have natural lowlight eyes, allowing them to see at night better than humans. This is due to an increased number of rod cells, along with a greater sensitivity. The assumed average life expectancy of an Ork is approximately forty years, although this average age may be lower due to social factors. The average Ork reaches sexual maturity at age 10. Ork mothers often have multiple children when pregnant, ranging from 4 to 8 children per pregnancy. Pregnancies for ork mothers last around six months. Infant mortality is high, usually due to social and economic factors.

Racism

Due to the fact that Orks are more numerous than other Metahumans save for Humans(due to their high reproductive rate and higher proportion of metagenetic expression), and that from the first Goblinization, Orks were viewed as monsters, Orks as a whole suffer from the most racism. Even 40 years after Goblinization, many of these prejudices are maintained. Frequently, Orks have trouble finding employment or housing. This discrimination causes a vicious cycle: On the one hand, many Orks must live underground or in simplest dwellings and perform the simplest and lowest paying jobs, but on the other hand, this lifestyle prohibits them from moving up in social status and gaining more lucrative employment.
