Alchera or Alcheringa are astral structures that can appear in the physical world. They appear as ghostly manifestations or actual materialized objects and sometimes replace structures that have previously taken their place on the physical plane. Alchera have either the shape of the natural environment or of structures. With a few exceptions, they are permanently present on the astral plane as astral structures.[1]
In contrast, the appearance in the physical world is often only temporary and follows a certain rhythm.
Physical manifestation of alchera is correlated with the anniversary of a significant event or times of astrological importance (such as an equinox).[2]
The word alchera comes from the Aboriginal language Arrernte and is often translated as "dream" or "dream time" (which does not exactly reflect the actual meaning). The astral phenomenon was documented for the first time in Australia, which is why this name was chosen.[3]
Originally, the term was only used for astral constructs that materialize, later also for those that only manifest.[4]
Alchera are divided into three forms according to the way they appear in the physical world:
- manifested alchera, which only represent ghostly appearances
- materialized alchera, with which one can also interact physically
- displacement alchera, which not only manifest while displacing physical objects, which are sent unknown location for the duration of the alchera’s appearance. Displacement alcheras will not abduct living entities, which instead find themselves suddenly thrust in the newly materialized environment.[5]
Most alchera are present on the astral plane as a permanent astral structure. However, there are exceptions, some of which are only temporary in the astral space. They appear there first, then appear in the physical world and then disappear in reverse order.[6]
Origin of alcheras is not known, but many magicians speculate they are shadows of other metaplanes.[7]
Known alcheras:
- Sears Tower, Chicago. Manifests every Feb 10th on the anniversary of its collapse.[8]
- Phantom islands in the Caribbean League tend to randomly materialize and dematerialize[9]
- Deep Lacuna in California. A long-lasting displacement alchera that has existed for over a decade. [10]
