The Anacostia Barrens is a district in Washington, FDC.
The Anacostia Barrens are an urban combat zone.[1] It's origins trace back to 2009 when during the VITAS plague, the government established a barrier at the Anacostia River to prevent anyone from crossing over. It was militarized resulting that the mainly black neighborhoods on the southeast, northeast, and east side were left to die.[2]
It became the home of those whom had been priced out of their homes in the suburbs.[3] Later the government dumped the Compensation Army in Anacostia resulting in the creation of Compville. It's a breeding ground of armed militiamen, neo-Anarchists, and anti-government activists. The Compensation Army is trying to bring order to the slums.[4]
