Artificial Sensory Induction Systems Technology or ASIST is a technology that can record, process, and feed false sensory input to the brain, resulting in simulation of a unique experience. Developed in 2018 by Dr. Hosato Hikita of ESP Systems in Chicago, ASIST has become wildly popular among the entertainment industry because of the full-immersion, simulated-sensory experience, leading to the simsense medium; the computer industry has used the ASIST technology as a human interface for the high-speed, high-information dataflow that modern computer systems and networks - such as the Matrix - would have overwhelmed users with when interfacing with traditional methods.
