Burnout was, or in fact: is a cyberzombie, who currently resides in the metaplanes, along with the spirit Lethe, (the current incarnation of the great dragon Dunkelzahn) protecting the Earth and searching for Thayla.
Before becoming a cyberzombie he was a burned out Aztlaner mage.
