Critters is the term to describe animals in the Sixth World. They can be mundane, like the house hold cat or dog; awakened, like a demon rat or unicorn; or even emergent, like technocritters.
They are often trained and used in corporate security. Often awaken critters are trained to offer magic counter measures. While more mundane options are heavily genetically modified and turned in to warforms.
Some critters are also pests and will infest locations and be an over all threat to metahuman residences.
