Harburg Slum
Harburg is a district in Hamburg.
Harbrg is the most rundown district in all of Hamburg. The Black Tide of 2011 it it hard, the district never recovered. It is a cityscape which is dominated by rundown residential towers and dilapidated prefabricated buildings. In the 2040s, these buildings were built to provide housing to the thousands and thousands of refugees and immigrants. The Eastern European families whom could afford it left the "swamp" of Wildost for Harburg.
Those who live in the ghetto, survive at the subsistence level. Most have no permanent work or are stuck on dead-end jobs, which drones can do more efficiently and effectively. Despite all the poverty the area has a high birth rate. Parents are often chipheads or junkies. Most of the kids have experienced violence, abuse, crime, and drugs.
Ethnic cohesion in this district is strong. Family connections provide residents jobs elsewhere, and those whom have made it and left continue to maintain their connections to family in Harburg. Prostitution, drug, and BTL rackets operate in the district. It is a district which is ruled by the Lobatchevski Syndicate. Which recruits its residents into its prostitution operations or as operatives for the syndicates, and recruits the gangs themselves.
Hanse Security (aka, HanSec) only comes in to Harburg to make an example or because of massive violence. When they do come in, the squads are backed up by armored personnel carriers (APCS), flying drone support, and water cannons.[1]
