The Honjowara-gumi are the leading Yakuza group in Philadelphia.
The Honjowara-gumi are the New Way's strongest proponent in the Americas. It recruits metahumans and the oyabun's Praetorian bodyguard (Green Serpent Guard) is made up only of elves, all of whom are powerful physical adepts.'Oyabun Honjowara is also the head of the Nagato Combine.[1]
In the city of Newark in New Jersey, they have adopted Sector 6 as the clan's prefecture and protects its residents against criminal "outsiders" and random acts of violence. Known as "Little Asia", it's the safest place in Newark especially if you are a Japanese human. If you are a metahuman (especially a trog) or not Asian, the Yakuza patrols make you feel as if you don't belong.[2]
The Honjowara-gumi does not traffic in chips nor do they maintain BTL labs. In fact the clan's oyabun forbids any employee or member of the Nagato Combine to use BTL.[3]
