San Bernardino is a city in the Los Angeles sprawl.
The city of San Bernardino is in the eastern part of the sprawl, in what used to be the San Bernardino county. Since the "Twins" earthquakes, a lot of the city is in ruins. It is a city with little corporate investment, a population that is mostly low-class, and whose SINless percentage is high. Neither the government of Los Angeles or the PCC have done any real rebuilding, focusing on areas that are more economically valuable.
The city has crumbling buildings and a decreasing power, water, and social services. Water is strictly rationed, police services are lacking or non-existent, and wireless networks are forced to rely on mesh networks. The residents out of anger have been increasingly turning to the criminal underworld and gangs, which results in the government decreasing the resources allocated to the city, which makes the citizens rely on the gangs more in a vicious cycle. Which has increased tensions and rumors that San Bernardino is going to become second El Infierno. The most powerful gang here are Los Verdugos who dominate East San Bernardino.[1][2]
