I think I'm going to re-edit the Guyana entry to become French Guyana, as Guyana and French Guyana are two seperate entities. Guyana (Co-operative Republic of Guyana) is a British Commonwealth country and was formerly known as British Guyana, while French Guiana (Guyane française) is a non-sovereign, overseas "state" of France. All references to Kourou and Devil's Island will be moved to the French Guiana page, as they are in modern day French Guiana. To make matters worse, both countries sit on an area of the South American continent called the Guiana highlands with the country of Suriname (which was called Dutch Guiana)--YoungFreud 16:32, 24 Sep 2004 (Eastern Daylight Time)
Alcantra - Alcantara[]
I don´t have the Year of the Comet sourcebook and so i don´t really know how they wrote the base´s name, but i live in Brazil and the place is actually called Alcântara, not Alcantra. After correcting it, i realized that i should have asked for someone´s permission, sorry. :-/
- No, that's ok. I think the general consensus here is that if it's a real place name that was misspelled or misrepresented in the books, it's OK to correct it. This is what happened with the Guyana entry, as Guyana popped up on occasion in YoTC and T:WL, but it was French Guiana, not Guyana.--YoungFreud 01:42, 26 Oct 2004 (Eastern Daylight Time)
