Here's a short proposal for some info on FastJack, obviously it needs expaned upon, but I don't have my books handy at the moment:
FastJack is one of the preeminent deckers in the Matrix and by some accounts, the best. His real identity is unknown and he has always had a reputation for avoiding face-to-face meets, but a few facts are available about him. He was most likely born in 1999 due to a post which he stated that he was 12 in 2011 (ref. to Denver Sourcebook on this). It is rumored that he was a member of the Echo Mirage team, although FastJack has always denied this assertion. Overall, FastJack is an enigma within the Matrix. His goals remain largely unknown, as do his alliances.
Well, I won't say I'm a definitive source for info on FastJack or any other canon individual, but that might be a good start anyways.

- I'm always hesitant to call someone the best. They're certainly some of the most well known deckers, but I thought many of them rely heavily on frames for a variety of reasons. Are you really the best decker out there if all you do is program frames that do your bidding? You're certainly a good programmer. --msde 18:58, 26 Oct 2004 (Eastern Daylight Time)
- Very true on that. Even FastJack isn't above every threat in the Matrix, but I think it's fair to say that some do consider him the best decker. Although, cutting the first sentence off after Matrix would work just fine, in my opinion.

- Wasn't FastJack also the first Shadowland SysOp? I was thinking about adding that in because of SSC, also because I don't know when the first appearance of Captain Chaos. --YoungFreud 13:30, 27 Oct 2004 (Eastern Daylight Time)
- Captain Chaos was doing the intro for the NAN SB1. IIRC, there was only one book older than that, the old Seattle SB, which is introduced by Prof TR Stealth. According to Target:Matrix, in 2061, Captain Chaos had been the sysop for more than 15 years. --Nath 15:12, 27 Oct 2004 (Eastern Daylight Time)
- Some other sysop does the intro for Coporate Shadowfiles, right? --Connor 01:14, 29 Oct 2004 (Eastern Daylight Time)
Fastjack is a elf.He is around the same age as Harlequin or Ehren. He IS the best Decker of all time and in all of the Matrix. There are some that have come close, but not close enough.--User:Phoenix18:59 05 Jan 2005

- The Fastjack was not born in the 20th century, contrary to popular belief. He was born in the age of the elves. Just like Harlequin and Ehren the Scibe. He practically built the Matrix. All other deckers, (including The Dodger), look up to him and hope and pray that they never have to face him.--Phoenix 21:09, 5 Jan 2005 (Eastern Standard Time)
- Do you have a canon source for any of that?

- A simplest way would to say something like "Fastkack is viewed as the best decker". This is true, saying almost the same thing, and keeping out the specific cases we don't know about, and the anomalies (such as Leo's friends). Jérémie Bouillon 15:21, 13 July 2006 (EDT)

Happy Trails[]
The Happy Trails short story in the 20th Anniversary corebook opens with "2065," but FastJack and Skald talk about the upcoming Novatech IPO, which was in 2064. --obo 18:40, 6 August 2009 (EDT)
