The Crypt is a squatter home in the middle of the Puyallup Barrens in Seattle. It's here that squatters (and Shadowrunners on the run) could learn magic, get and education, join a magical coven, buy telesma, and hide out from the cops and corp-sec.
It was run by a Snake shaman named Boanerges, who was later killed when a group of mercenaries hired by the Mad Hatter (Thomas Mather) and his friend, and elven decker named the March Hare (Marc Herrera) in order to secure the location of an old experiment to cure goblinization.
