Shadowrun Wiki

The sources-Shortcuts[]

I've seen, you added the pdf-only sourcebooks to the shortcuts list. - It would be a good idea, if you would do the same in the German wiki.
--Dorle (talk) 16:00, December 27, 2012 (UTC)

Well, it would probably have to be reworked.

Shadowrun Novels[]

There is a Category:Shadowrun novels - So, if you think the category name must have the word "sources" in it, the old category has to be deleted.
--Dorle (talk) 17:26, January 14, 2013 (UTC)

I think it would be best to use the unified base category name "Sources" and then "Sources by language" with "Sources (English)" etc., "Sources by year", "Sources by type" and there maybe "Sources (novels)", "Sources by publisher" and so on.
--ShxLoki (talk) 17:32, January 14, 2013 (UTC)
Okay. - The Category:Shadowrun publications should be replaced by a Category:Sources then? - And the "Category:Adventures" by a Category:Sources (adventures), right? - I starded replacing categories, but anything in the "Shadowrun publications"-category still has to get the new category.
--Dorle (talk) 15:01, January 16, 2013 (UTC)
An Other question: should there be a separate category for "campaign books" or should they be listed in the Category:Sources (adventures)?
--Dorle (talk) 18:53, January 16, 2013 (UTC)
Hm, I don't have strong opinion on that. I mean it's mostly the difference between older and newer editions, since for some time now, it has been only campaigns or campaign frameworks.
--ShxLoki (talk) 21:06, January 22, 2013 (UTC)

Would you also help to recategorisize the Sources? - I'm a little bit tired of it at the moment. --Dorle (talk) 18:51, January 22, 2013 (UTC)

I have exchanged the rest of the "Shadowrun publications" entries.
--ShxLoki (talk) 21:06, January 22, 2013 (UTC)
Many thanks.
--Dorle (talk) 04:58, January 23, 2013 (UTC)

Shadowrun Reference Standard[]

Do you think, we still need these last two pages in the Category Shadowrun publications? - Otherwise I would delete them.
--Dorle (talk) 18:28, January 24, 2013 (UTC)

I would keep them but move them up one category.
--ShxLoki (talk) 18:29, January 24, 2013 (UTC)

Done. - Now I will delete the unused Category.
--Dorle (talk) 18:34, January 24, 2013 (UTC)

The template for the Sources[]

Could you modify that template, so that it could have two covers?
--Dorle (talk) 16:26, January 31, 2013 (UTC)

I would rather put multiple covers into the article.
--ShxLoki (talk) 11:10, February 7, 2013 (UTC)
The sourcebooks - Unwired, Arsenal, Magic in the Shadows, Runner's Companion - all have two official covers. - How would we deal with it, if the Template dosn't allow that?
--Dorle (talk) 15:53, February 7, 2013 (UTC)
You can use the gallery tag and omit the cover value in the template. It would be nice if you use the same naming scheme for additional covers: "Source_cover_en_Arsenal_2.jpg" and so on.
--ShxLoki (talk) 10:15, February 9, 2013 (UTC)

That tag dosn't work in the Template. Look at Source:Unwired where I tried!
--Dorle (talk) 14:29, February 9, 2013 (UTC)

No, as I said, I would put it into the article.
--ShxLoki (talk) 14:57, February 9, 2013 (UTC)

Do you know what I need to do to get admin flag here? I wanted to move a page (Insect Spirit to insect spirits) and the Wikia won't allow me. A bit of a bummer considering I was the only active admin for a while on the old 'shock site... Piotrus (talk) 20:50, June 21, 2013 (UTC)

This appears to be solved.

SHX images[]

Are you user Loki from Shadowhelix? If so, could you upload your images like [1] here as well? Piotrus (talk) 09:36, August 24, 2013 (UTC)

Yep, that's me. Sure, I can see to that. On the other hand, we could also take this approach de:Reinickendorf. I will substitute my old Seattle maps in the Shadowhelix with the same overlay solution. So ...
--ShxLoki (talk) 17:13, August 24, 2013 (UTC)
That's good too; I don't have a preference - whichever one is fine as long as we end up with images :) --Piotrus (talk) 04:36, August 25, 2013 (UTC)
I have integrated a map in the Auburn article as an example. (The rest of the overlays are here: Category:Images/Maps/DisplayMaps/Overlays). Most of the district articles are very short though, maybe the maps should be included after they have been expanded.
--ShxLoki (talk) 17:50, August 25, 2013 (UTC)
Already on it, see Snohomish. --Piotrus (talk) 02:26, August 26, 2013 (UTC)

Is there a way to increase the size of the local maps like the one in THE Sports Bar? When one clicks on the map, it loads just the image without the place marker. Ideally it would also load the placemarker... do you know of a way to do so? --Piotrus (talk) 04:39, August 29, 2013 (UTC)

The size could be enlarged without problems, but it is tied to the size of the infobox and I wouldn't want to make it separate. As for loading a larger map, I can see some way of doing it with javascript or css. I guess I can give it a try.
--ShxLoki (talk) 07:40, August 30, 2013 (UTC)
I have found a solution, it requires a little css snippet to work:
.maplocation { display:none; }
:target .maplocation { display:block; }
This has to be copied to Mediawiki:Common.css. On the other hand, if someone could give me administrative rights, there are a few more things I would want to change/try with the css stuff...
--ShxLoki (talk) 13:27, August 31, 2013 (UTC)
Ask User:Dorle, he gave me the rights - I am sure he can give them to you too. --Piotrus (talk) 15:34, August 31, 2013 (UTC)
Okay, now I will try to implement this. It turns out though somehow we don't seem to have custom css. I have to research this first. Nope, now it works.
--ShxLoki (talk) 08:18, September 2, 2013 (UTC)
Maybe you can try this and tell me if it works for you. On any of these three: Club Penumbra, Dante's Inferno or Freeway Park there is a link to a larger map. Clicking it, should bring you to an enlarged page which only shows the location from which you came.
--ShxLoki (talk) 08:59, September 2, 2013 (UTC)
Hmmm. I think it worked ~3 days ago when I briefly checked one of them, but now that I try to look again, it doesn't seem to work in any of the three. --Piotrus (talk) 07:45, September 6, 2013 (UTC)

Maps for the Seattle districts[]

I've finished expanding all the district articles with text; can you add the maps to the few that are sill missing them? Thanks! --Piotrus (talk) 07:00, October 31, 2013 (UTC)

Didn't see this before. I can do that.
--ShxLoki (talk) 10:42, November 23, 2013 (UTC)
Thank you! --Piotrus (talk) 02:17, December 4, 2013 (UTC)
