The Vietnamese Mafia is organized crime which is ethnically Vietnamese.
The Vietnamese Mafia is not a single organization, but consists of various types of organized crime groups. Some of them were founded in Vietnam itself and others were founded overseas by Vietnamese immigrants or their descendants. Some of them are even Triads and are both Vietnamese and Chinese. They are involved in a wide variety of criminal activities from protection rackets to smuggling, trafficking in drugs to trafficking in women, and so on. Vietnamese syndicates are operating in Vietnam, Australia, North America, and in France. In the United States before the Sixth World, California not only had the lion's share of the Vietnamese-American community, but it was the center of Vietnamese organized crime in the USA (both Orange County and San Jose).
